Dream, discover and celebrate — Student Welcome Cards

Posted on January 07, 2010

One of eight thousand Student Welcome Cards.

From crayons to paper 8,000 B.C. students drew their vision of the 2010 Winter Games.

The original artwork is being made into 70,000 Student Welcome Cards that will greet athletes, coaches and dignitaries when they arrive to their rooms at the Vancouver and Whistler athlete villages.

Here’s just a sample of the cards on display in the You Gotta Be Here media gallery .

Students created artwork based on the theme Dream, Discover and Celebrate Your British Columbia.

We truly live in one of the best places on earth.

It’s a chance for B.C. students to benefit from this once-in-a-lifetime learning opportunity and contribute to the Games in a meaningful way.

Because the Olympic Winter Games are about more than just athletics; they help us to expand our understanding of other countries and cultures and they teach us about the qualities that are necessary to achieve a dream.

What is your Olympic dream?
